ORGANISMS AND THEIR NEEDS

Organisms and their needs

Organism: A living thing[[Plant or Animal]]
Needs: organism's requirements to survive[[ food, water, living space]]organism's depend on other organisms and their habitat to meet their needs[[birds use twigs to build their nests]].

Competition:
a struggle for a limited amount of resources,an organism must have a way to get what it needs[[food, water, oxygen]] or it will die EX: Plant in a jungle compete for sunlight.

Ecosystem:
the mix of all living things and nonliving things and conditions in an area[[like tempereature, animals, temperature ETC:]]

Enviroment:
surroundiong conditions; different enviroments support different types of organisms.

Species:
organisms that have similar characteristics; can breed with each other and produce fertile offspring[[Monarch butterlies]]

Populations:
organisms that are of same species, livein the same area, and breed woth eachother[[Monarch butterlies in a certain forrest]]

Community:
all the populations that live and interact in an area[[all the animals and plants that live in a certain forrest]]

Habitat:
area an organism lives in and gets what it needs[[Lake]]

Niche:
the role a species has in an ecosystem[[squirrels consume acorns from trees]]

Ecological Suggestions:
graduel replacement of plants and animals overtime due to enviromental changes[[New species of trees replace the old trees that burned down in a forest fire]]
